The 16th EuCornea Congress, taking place from Friday 23rd – Sunday 25th May in the Clarion Congress Hotel Prague, Czech Republic (Czechia)
Letter from the President

Dear Colleagues, Dear Friends,
On behalf of the EuCornea Board, it is my great pleasure to invite you to join us at our 16th EuCornea Congress, taking place from May 23 to 25, 2025, in the stunning city of Prague, Czech Republic.
We are thrilled to bring this year’s event to Prague—a city renowned for its historic charm, architectural beauty, and vibrant cultural scene.
Often referred to as the “City of a Hundred Spires,” Prague offers a unique blend of medieval history and modern sophistication. The Eucornea Congress venue is well located, providing easy access to iconic landmarks such as the Charles Bridge, Old Town Square, and Prague Castle, allowing you to combine academic excellence with the joy of exploring one of Europe’s most enchanting destinations. At the end of a congress day Prague is an ideal city to walk around and take in the sights and local cuisine.
The 2025 EuCornea Congress promises to build upon our strong tradition of fostering knowledge exchange and collaboration among medical and surgical European cornea specialists.
Since its establishment in 2010, EuCornea has grown into a leading society for Cornea Specialists, and our stand-alone Annual May Congress has become a cornerstone event in the field of corneal care. Over the course of two and a half days, attendees will benefit from an educational programme that includes didactic courses, interactive clinical case discussions, free paper and poster presentations, expert keynotes, Young Academic sessions and invaluable networking opportunities with our industry partners and with each other.
We are particularly excited to host the Global Symposium on ‘Corneal Infection Management Around the World’ which once again, brings us together with our international sister societies. We are deeply grateful to the Cornea Society of the US, the PanCornea Society from South America, the Asia Cornea Society, and ESCRS for their continued collaboration. These partnerships enrich our Congress by contributing diverse perspectives and expertise. Together, we will explore the latest advancements in corneal diseases and therapies, with a special focus on Corneal Infections around the world.
This year’s programme is designed to address the pressing questions of daily clinical practice, providing updates on groundbreaking scientific research, and opening new horizons in medical and surgical cornea care. We are confident it will inspire and empower attendees to bring cutting-edge knowledge back to their practices and institutions.
The abstract submission deadline has now passed, and we extend our thanks to all who contributed their research. We are currently reviewing your submissions and will notify authors of their acceptance before the end of February.
In the meantime, registration and hotel bookings are open on the EuCornea website (www.eucornea.org), so we encourage you to secure your spot and make your travel arrangements soon.
We are immensely grateful for the support of our industry partners, whose presence and participation help make this Congress possible. Together, we aim to create an event that is not only educational and innovative but also an unparalleled platform for collaboration and professional growth.
With its rich history, picturesque views, and dynamic atmosphere, Prague promises to be a truly inspiring backdrop for our Congress. Don’t miss this opportunity to reconnect in person, exchange ideas, and immerse yourself in the latest developments in corneal care.
I look forward to welcoming many of you to the Eucornea Congress in Prague in May.
With my very best wishes,
Beatrice Cochener-Lamard
EuCornea President
