Eucornea 2025
A Memorable Congress in Prague

Mario Nubile

EuCornea President

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

I sincerely hope you enjoyed your time in Prague.  From its iconic architecture to its pioneering medical institutions, Prague provided the perfect setting for this year’s annual Congress, reflecting a shared vision of progress in corneal care.

The 16th Eucornea Congress has been a remarkable event, filled with memorable highlights. Yesterday’s programme was filled with a busy programme from sold-out DMEK Wetlabs to the insightful Global Symposium on Corneal Infection Management Around the World, and the engaging Industry and IME Symposia. The day concluded on a high note with the inaugural Young Academic Quiz Challenge!

Today the final Symposium of the Congress  – Corneal Healing: Understanding & Management was a must-attend session to close out our scientific journey.

Over the weekend, we witnessed outstanding sessions, thought-provoking presentations, and incredible exchanges of knowledge and ideas. These moments have not only marked the success of individual days but have defined the Congress as a whole.

The final act of the day was the announcement of the Best Free Paper and Poster Prizes, celebrating the excellence and innovation shared throughout the weekend.

On behalf of Eucornea, I want to sincerely thank each and every one of you for being part of this special event. Your engagement, curiosity, and contributions have shaped the success of this Congress. We are deeply grateful to our attendees, speakers, course and wetlab instructors, and our incredibly supportive industry partners.

A heartfelt thank you also goes to the Eucornea Board and our newly formed Young Academic Committee for their dedication and hard work in making this event possible.

And finally, we extend our deepest gratitude to our ex-President Beatrice Cochener-Lamard.   Her dedication, vision, and tireless commitment have been instrumental in the growth and dynamism of Eucornea.  Beatrice’s exemplary leadership as President over the past two years has been instrumental in the growth and dynamism of our Society.  Her achievements and commitment will have a lasting impact.  It is an honour to follow in Beatrice’s footsteps. I look forward to continuing the high standard she has set and working together to achieve continued success

All that remains is for me to wish safe travels home, and to warmly invite you to join us once again for the 17th Eucornea Congress in Porto in 2026!

Thank you for being in Prague with us.

Mario Nubile,
President Eucornea
