Dear Friends & Colleagues,

It is our great pleasure and honour to welcome you to the 16th Eucornea Congress in Prague, a city steeped in culture and history.

Our Scientific Committee has diligently curated a dynamic programme for the coming days, featuring a diverse range of sessions designed to engage, inform and inspire. From renowned experts sharing insights on Corneal Infections to in-depth discussions exploring Keratoconus and Fuch’s Dystrophy, we are committed to fostering an environment that encourages fresh ideas and collaborative exchange.

Today, we featured two keynote talks during the first two Free Paper Sessions. The first, ‘Lessons Learned in Ocular GVHD: The Indian Experience’, delivered by Murugesan Vanathi (India). The second, ‘Drug Repurposing for Corneal Diseases’, presented by Sorcha Ní Dhubhghaill (Ireland) during the Free Paper Session on Ocular Surface Disease.

Building on the popularity from previous years, two Presented Poster Sessions took place this afternoon.  We are looking forward to some lively and insightful discussions during these interactive sessions.

In addition, we had our first Symposium of the Congress on the State-of-the-Art Management of Keratoconus, along with The Young Academic and Senior Hot Topic Session on Challenging Medical Cases in Cornea, organised by our dedicated Young Academic Committee.  The programme today also included three Instructional Courses and an interesting Industry News Session highlighting the latest findings and emerging technologies in the field.

We hope you enjoyed the Welcome Reception networking event today – we hope you had an opportunity to connect both professionally and personally, and also had an opportunity to engage with our valued industry partners.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all attendees, the hardworking members of the Scientific Committee, our sister societies, and our industry partners. Your continued support and collaboration are what make this event such a great event each year.  Your participation not only enriches the congress but also drives us toward exciting breakthroughs in the treatment of corneal disease.

We sincerely hope that you find this congress to be a source of inspiration, knowledge, and meaningful connection. Together, let us explore the limitless possibilities ahead and reaffirm our shared commitment to excellence in patient care.

Warm regards,
Beatrice Cochener-Lamard
